Triple H is one of wrestling’s all-time greats and there’s no denying that. His feud with The Rock carried the WWE (then WWF) to greater heights. The Game’s contributions to the industry cannot be overstated.

The 14-time world champion took to social media and he responded to fans and peers following the shocker of an announcement that he was retiring from pro wrestling. The response to his retirement news was overwhelming.

The real-life Paul Levesque prefaced the statement with a quote from American novelist Louis L’Amour. He said he was truly humbled by all the calls, texts and posts from from family, friends, fans, colleagues and peers.

There will come a time when you believe everything is finished; that will be the beginning.

– Louis L’Amour

I am truly humbled by the texts, calls, posts, and all the kind words, I’m grateful to each and every one of you. I wish I could respond to each and every one of you, but I type so slow I’d never leave the house again. Please know how much they all mean to me.

Stay healthy, be grateful for all you have and seize the day……. I know I am!

Last year, Triple H caught a viral pneumonia that caused inflammation in his lungs. It eventually led to him almost losing his life, which was a wake-up call for the former WWE Champion.

The King of Kings said he had talked to Vince McMahon about doing something at the upcoming WrestleMania 38 pay-per-view event in Dallas, but plans changed due to his cardiac event.
