Cody Rhodes was a massive help to AEW and there is no denying that fact. He helped shape the company during its initial stages and put over numerous young talents. There are also doubts over Rhodes finding success in WWE after his return.

Rhodes and his wife Brandi left AEW last month. Since then, their next pro wrestling destination has been a major topic of discussion. For the time being, WWE is the biggest rumored destination.

As previously reported, Cody Rhodes has officially signed a contract with WWE. It was also said that he will be making his return to the pro wrestling company very soon.

While speaking on Smack Talk, pro wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell talked about Cody Rhodes making his way back to WWE. Mantell expressed doubt that Rhodes would find huge success in the company and his buzz would eventually fizzle out.

“This is what I genuinely fear. I fear Cody going there, and he’ll be a big deal one week, two weeks, and the third week he is slack. Then the fourth week Rhodes will just be fading into the background. By the sixth week, all the buzz is gone and he will be just another guy. That’s what I fear. Because that’s what they have shown us as what they can do. Cody is not anywhere near the star his daddy was. I don’t think he’s anywhere near the star his brother was. Is he going to be Cody Rhodes? Is he going to have some kind of Starman gimmick? I think he’s a good addition but I really do not see him moving the needle at all.”

WWE talent are also extremely excited for Cody Rhodes’ return after almost 6 years. We’ll have to wait and see how Cody Rhodes will fare in the company after his imminent return.
