Vince McMahon made a very rare appearance on the Pat McAfee show this afternoon. The WWE boss joined the former NFL star to talk about a variety of subjects. One of the most fascinating topics was Vince McMahon himself.

McMahon is known as a bit of an eccentric. There are very few people on the planet like him. Vince is also infamous for his mental toughness.

Pat McAfee asked Vince McMahon where he thought he found his emotional fortitude. Vince said he is simply cut from a different cloth. McMahon also said genes could have something to do with it.

“I’m just wired differently than most people. That’s all. I think heredity plays a part in it. You’re just who you are. You accept that and what your weaknesses are and your strengths are and you use them in the best appropriate way you can.”

Vince McMahon’s father was at one time a great regional wrestling promoter. In the tradition of the family business, McMahon took the mental toughness his father had and cranked it up. That has allowed WWE to survive and thrive all these decades later.

It could be a long time before we see another candid interview with Vince McMahon. Pat McAfee did a great job of keeping the conversation focused. Many fans will be surprised to know just how forthcoming Vince was during the talk.
