Matt Cardona Says He Learned From Cody Rhodes & Did It His Way

Matt Cardona is currently the hottest star on the independent circuit and there’s no denying that. Cardona has reinvented himself from one of the most likeable babyfaces to the most loathsome heel in the indies.

Cardona is also great friends with Cody Rhodes. The two worked together in the WWE. Cardona says he learned a lot from the former TNT champion and his contributions to pro wrestling as a whole are incredible.

“What @CodyRhodes did for his career/pro wrestling is incredible. Undesirable to undeniable. As a friend, I’m extremely proud of what he’s accomplished/what he’ll continue to do. I learned from him…then did it my way. I hope the next does the same. And so on and so forth.”

Cody Rhodes and wife Brandi Rhodes left All Elite Wrestling (AEW) this month. AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced their the news of their departure on social media.

Cody’s next career move remains a source of speculation for wrestling pundits and fans alike. Many expect the 36-year-old to come back to the place that kickstarted his career.
