Rikishi is one of the most beloved stars of WWE’s famed attitude era. The WWE Hall of Famer comes from a long bloodline of current and former pro wrestlers. The larger-than-life superstar will soon take his oversized persona to the printed page.

Media production company AnimeHipHop has circulated a press release announcing that Rikishi will soon be the star of his own comic book. “Kishi and the Island of Dreams” is set to release this summer. Rikishi will be featured and provide creative guidance for the upcoming book.

“Media production company AnimeHipHop teams up with wrestling Hall of Famer Rikishi to delight comic book fans with their latest production Kishi and the Island of Dreams.

Scheduled for release in Summer 2022, the comic follows Kishi, who must embark on an epic journey to the dream portal to initiate his powers. He is part of a tribe protecting the old ways in a new generation of people lost to the concepts of the past.

Kishi And The Island of Dreams is being guided by Rikishi and helmed by AnimeHipHop production team. Production includes Eric Cthree McElroy Jr. (Author/Creative Director), Andre Davis ( Producer),  Aaron Johnson (Production Designer), Eli Johnson (Production Animator), Abelard Alexis, Nia Yung Grotke (Concept Artists/Illustrators), and Nazar Khan as the (Project Manager).”

It will be interesting to see what kind of story Rikishi wants to tell. Previous wrestling comic books have not been very well-received. Many fans point to the Ultimate Warrior’s foray into the medium as one of the worst. We will have to wait and see how Rikishi’s latest venture turns out.
