Former WWE Superstar Paul Wight used to be known as the Big Show in WWE. He spent over two decades in the company before he decided to take his skills elsewhere. Wight eventually made his way to AEW, much to the surprise of the pro wrestling world.

Despite his successful career in WWE, Big Show was often made a joke due to Vince McMahon turning him into a heel or babyface randomly at the drop of a hat. Wight had previously made it clear he wasn’t a fan of that either.

The Spirit Squad’s Kenny and Mikey beat The Big Show and Kane on the April 3, 2006 episode of Monday Night RAW. The Spirit Squad then made fun of The Big show by encouraging him to pick up a sandwich during a match at a live event.

While speaking on Rene Dupree’s Cafe de Rene podcast, former Spirit Squad member Johnny Jeter accused The Big Show of legitimately beating him up on live television.

“I would have handled the situation differently. It is not like I will go to the f***ing Big Show and go, ‘You son of a b****. How dare you put my career on the line or my job on the line or my health and safety on the line by f***ing legitimately beating me up in the ring like that on live TV.’ I had a lot of feelings about it, but it just isn’t something you can voice out.

Regardless of the accusation, Paul Wight is more than happy working in AEW thanks to the creative environment provided there and he wouldn’t have it any other way. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Wight in the company.
