Mustafa Ali participated in the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) tournament as a replacement for Zumbi. The Brazilian wrestler could not travel to the United States to work the tournament dates due to visa issues.

Ali impressed WWE higher-ups with his performance and was offered a full-time contract. He became one of the mainstays of the now-defunct 205 Live, where he had stellar matches with PAC (fka Adrian Neville) and KENTA (fka Hideo Itami).

The Illinois native once again had to school a fan for sounding ignorant on the internet. Wrestling fans can be extremely toxic sometimes, just ask Bryan Danielson, especially on the internet.

The fan in question asked Ali to develop a character. “Can you do the move where you get a character?” the fan said, to which Ali replied that he did but some fans always complain when wrestlers get creative.

Ali has been venting out his frustrations against WWE on social media as of late. He requested his release from the company in January, but has yet to receive a nod from the company in regards to his request.
