Keith Lee was released from WWE after a run in NXT where he became NXT Champion in the process. That was not the first time he tried out for Vince McMahon’s company, and Dusty Rhodes was there before WWE said yes.

An excerpt from Keith Lee’s WWE documentary is picking up some steam today. The clip includes Keith Lee explaining how Dusty Rhodes helped coin his “Bask In My Glory” catchphrase. One fan incorrectly stated that this interaction took place while Lee was in NXT, but that was not the case.

The Limitless Lee tweeted out to correct the previous misinformation while referring to himself in the third person.

Incorrect. Dusty passed before his NXT days. Dusty created it about 4 years before Keith was ever there.

Keith Lee recently signed with AEW and his on-screen debut cemented him in the Face of the Revolution ladder match. The story is still being told for Keith Lee in AEW, but he certainly wouldn’t be the same persona he is today if not for The American Dream.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
