Shane McMahon didn’t last long during his latest WWE return. A wild backstage scene at the Royal Rumble gave the company no choice but to quietly let Shane go. McMahon was said to have been acting selfishly and being very arrogant backstage.

McMahon kept messing with celebrity guest Bad Bunny’s number in the Rumble. Shane also insisted that he be made to look good in the match. Frustration set in after Vince McMahon kept turning down his ideas. There was a ton of heat on him. WWE couldn’t ignore the problem.

WWE considered Shane McMahon to be a huge part of the upcoming WrestleMania 38. Wrestle Votes recently reported that Shane was originally going to wrestle near the top of the Mania card. WWE has now been forced to scramble for a new major attraction for the grandest stage of them all.

“Source states the spot Shane McMahon was going to have on the WrestleMania card was to be positioned near the top. Therefore, WWE now needs a new “major attraction” matchup outside of the titles. This goes w/o saying, but the WM card is still in complete flux. It’s quite amazing.”

The WrestleMania card is still very much fluid. The main events appear to be set. The upper card could change several times between now and then.

With no Shane McMahon, WWE needs to come up with some alternate plans. There is plenty of time and talent available to make something work. We’ll see if WWE decides to go big with Shane’s replacement.
