Tony Khan has been teasing a huge, industry-changing signing for this week’s AEW Dynamite. With several former WWE superstars non-competes coming up recently, there are several big names who could appear. The most likely wrestler to debut is Keith Lee.

It was reported last week that AEW has big interest in signing Lee. The rumors intensified after Tony Khan announced that a major free agent wrestler would be signing with the company. It was never confirmed that Keith Lee was the surprise.

Other stars like Killer (Karrion) Kross and Athena (Ember Moon) as well as John Morrison have also been discussed as possibilities. Even if someone else is Tony Khan’s big surprise, it’s likely that Keith Lee will soon be All Elite. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Lee may have already signed his contract.

“They announced a big debut on Wednesday. So, I’d say that the favorite would be Keith Lee. Could be Athena. John Hennigan is another one. Of the people whose 90-day non-competes ended, those were the three that I thought were the most viable to sign [with AEW].

I know they’ve been talking to Keith Lee. I know they were pretty close with Keith Lee if it’s not already a done deal. It probably is a done deal. I don’t know that officially, but that’s kind of been the word going around. Hennigan, you know what you got. I think with Athena, you know what you got, and actually, she would be good.

Keith is an interesting one. I know what Keith was in 2018. And even toned down and told not to do what he’s good at in NXT, he did still get over. Main roster was a disaster.”

We probably won’t know which wrestler will walk through the “forbidden door” until Wednesday night. Tony Khan loves to build up big surprises. This is the most heavily hyped in a while. AEW fans are hoping Khan delivers in a huge way. It might even be limitless.
