Cesaro challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania Backlash last year. It was the biggest match in Cesaro’s career in WWE and he was determined to make the most of his opportunity.

Cesaro tried his hardest to beat The Tribal Chief but ultimately, it was to no avail as Reigns won the match after locking in the Guillotine submission on Cesaro, making The Swiss Superman pass out as a result.

Cesaro claimed that he pushed Roman Reigns to the limit more than others did and was proud of that fact as well. However, the match did not take place in front of a live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Cesaro revealed that he really wants a rematch with the Tribal Chief, this time in front of a live audience to watch the action.

“I’m very proud of that match against Roman. Not many people expected it to go almost 30 minutes, and our pace was one that surprised people. I wish it took place in front of fans. That’s what made my career. The fans have always had my back, so I wish we could run it back in front of fans.”

Cesaro was also absent from this year’s Royal Rumble match. It remains to be seen whether Cesaro will get to face off against Roman Reigns again in the future or not.
