Kenny Omega had an incredible run as a champion of multiple promotions during his “Belt Collector” storyline. Omega worked through the pain but eventually lost all of his gold as he needed to take time off to heal several nagging injuries. It was reported that Omega had no timetable for his return.

Omega also recently tested positive for COVID-19. Kenny noted that he was suffering from after-effects caused by the virus. That could have been a setback for his recovery time.

On a recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that there was a plan for Kenny Omega’s comeback. The former AEW World Champion was initially set for a March return. That timeline is once again up in the air.

A lot has changed in AEW since Kenny Omega has been around. The Cleaner will have a bevy of new stars gunning for his spot. If anyone can perform at that level, it is Kenny.
