Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time. Austin stormed into WWE when cartoonish characters and stale matches were the norm and ushered in the attitude era. Every time Steve Austin appears on WWE TV, it gets the fans buzzing.

Every WrestleMania season, rumors start flying about WWE legends returning at some point between the Royal Rumble and the company’s flagship event. Steve Austin is frequently included in those rumors. It’s been reported that the promotion is working on bringing Austin in for the show. It’s a testament to his long-standing popularity.

This WrestleMania is a little different. The spectacle takes place in Steve Austin’s home state of Texas. Stone Cold has been featured in the advertising. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave his thoughts on Austin’s involvement with Mania.

“Probably, he’ll be like the guest host. So he probably will be on a couple shows leading up to it, yes. Austin will probably help those weeks.”

WWE would love the massive hometown pop that the Texas Rattlesnake would get in the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The WWE Universe always appreciates an appearance by the Hall of Famer. It just makes sense for WWE to have Austin on the show.

Steve Austin could be playing a major role in WrestleMania 38. A run for Stone Cold on television in the weeks leading up to the event would create a ton of hype. We’ll see if and when Austin shows up to raise some hell.
