Big Swole’s name has been drenched in controversy as of late. This controversy arose of course because of comments she made, throwing shade on Tony Khan and AEW for not featuring enough diversity in their product. Now, after Jade Cargill became the first-ever TBS Champion last week on Dynamite, she has nothing but praise for her former colleague.

The internet was ablaze with those for Swole’s previous comments and those against. Many on the AEW roster came to Khan’s defense, claiming that AEW is and always has been perhaps one of the most diverse pro wrestling companies on the market.

Yet whether she was agreed with or not, she is acknowledging the fact that AEW’s Jade Cargill is getting what she deserved since stepping foot in the company, as the two worked together in the past. She made the following statements on her podcast, Swole World Podcast:

“She was there every single time that she was booked. From the moment that she set foot on AEW soil, she was there at training every week, before everybody else. So she was early. She showed up early, ready, and was one of the last ones to leave, because she wanted to learn something.

She wanted to get in a ring with people. She wanted to feel it. We’ve talked. We’ve discussed. We understand that this right here is a sisterhood. When I told her I was going to be there for her? Like, yeah. I’m going to be there for her.”

Swole had quite the rivalry with Britt Baker in the summer of 2020, but wasn’t seen very much since that time and announced that she was leaving the company in November of 2020. It was soon after that departure that the comments about a lack of diversity on AEW’s part were made. Many felt that these comments were sour grapes, or at least seemed to be.

Cargil for her part won the match for the TBS Championship, defeating Ruby Soho…a match that delivered on all fronts. It’ll be interesting to see what ‘s next for this tremendous athlete.
