Colin Cassidy and Enzo Amore (who now goes by nZo) were one of the most popular tag teams in WWE early in their career. Enzo’s fast-talking and often crude promos combined with Big Cass’ towering height and brute strength made them fan favorites during their run in NXT. The duo has mostly remained separate since leaving the company.

Cassidy currently goes by the moniker W. Morrissey in Impact and on the independent circuit. Morrissey has made a huge name for himself as a singles star since debuting for Impact last Spring. At the upcoming Hard to Kill pay-per-view, he will challenge for the promotion’s World Championship in a three-way match with Moose and Matt Cardona.

W. Morrissey recently made an appearance on the Battleground podcast. The question came up as to whether he’d be open to another tag team run. Morrissey said that he is focused on his singles run for now, but a reunion with nZo will probably happen in the future.

“I wouldn’t want to go back to a tag team full time. There is somewhere down the line for me and Enzo to get back together, but I’m focused on a singles run right now. It’s what I’ve always wanted and what I’ve always been destined to do.

I need to take advantage of the opportunities now because I had a lot of opportunities that were thrown my way that I wasted and that’s something I have to go to sleep with at night, knowing that. The opportunity is there for me to succeed as a singles star and it’s going to happen and we’re in the process of watching it happen. For me, going forward, singles is the way to go. For me, right now, where I’m at mentally, spiritually, emotionally, it’s a way better fit for me to be out there on my own.”

W. Morrissey has never held a major wrestling championship as a single or as a member of a tag team. The opportunity of a lifetime will present itself on January 16th at Hard to Kill. Tag team wrestling will have its place in Morrisey’s future. For now he is focused on winning the world title.
