Chris Jericho’s contributions as a pro wrestler need no introduction. He has competed in various promotions all around the globe for three decades. Jericho is also proud to be working in AEW and isn’t afraid to show it. As Jericho is veteran in the business, he doesn’t really have much care about what his haters have to say.

The pro wrestling legend was also absent from AEW television for a while due to his Fozzy tour in the United Kingdom. There he even got hospitalized but was discharged soon after.

While speaking on his Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho talked about Malakai Black’s current gimmick in AEW, which sees him using black mist on his opponents, similar to what Jericho used to do in NJPW as the Painmaker. Jericho then proceeded to hint at a feud with Black in the future.

“[Gage vs. Jericho] culminated with a cool spot, which is funny because it’s been appropriated and used by someone else in AEW, which opens the door if I ever wrestle him, talking about Malakai Black. Talking about the Great Muta, it’s a Muta classic and vintage trait…Then, of course, Malakai Black comes in and starts using the mist and doesn’t realize the Painmaker had done it. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. I’m not using the mist as Chris Jericho anytime soon so until the Painmaker comes back, the mist is all his. Who better to face Malakai Black and his dark character than the Painmaker? Maybe we’ll have a mist off.”

Le Champion made his return during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash and will now continue his feud with 2 Point 0 and Daniel Garcia. It remains to be seen whether Jericho and Malakai Black will eventually cross paths or not.
