Welcome to Ringside News’ live results, highlights, winners and reactions for the December 27th 2021 episode of WWE RAW. Start time for tonight’s show is 8:00 PM EST. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page, so you should update frequently to get the latest happenings. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.

COVID-19 has once again thrown WWE’s plans into disarray and tonight’s RAW will go ahead without the likes of WWE Champion, Big E, RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Bianca Belair, and others. As it stands, all of WWE’s scheduled matches for the Day 1 PPV are all systems go, and we can only hope it stays that way.

As for what is actually happening tonight, Finn Balor faces Austin Theory, Randy Orton battles Otis, AJ Styles takes on his former personal collosus, Omos, and Damian Priest defends the United States Championship against Dolph Ziggler. The Mysterio’s were scheduled to face The Street Profits in the final of the RK-Bronament, but it’s unclear if that’s still going ahead. And, last but not least, The Miz and Maryse will renew their wedding vows, and we’re certain Edge will make an appearance.

And that’s the preview for tonight’s afflicted episode of RAW. Our live coverage will begin from 8PM right here. Let us know if you’re excited about any of it and remember to hit the refresh link below and enjoy the show!

RAW

Monday Night RAW opens with the RAW Tag Team Champions, RK-Bro, coming to the ring. The commentators run down what will be taking place on tonight’s show, including the final of the RK-Bronament and Miz and Maryse renewing their wedding vows.

Riddle welcomes us to the final RAW of 2021, then says we’re going to love what’s to come from RK-Bro in 2022. Riddle’s been thinking of patenting his famous Broghurt. Orton says the only way he’ll have a happy new year is if he beats Otis tonight and they retain the tag titles at Day 1 on Saturday. Riddle says he did some self-reflecting while he was off last week, and he started to see himself differently. He says he started to see himself with scales and Randy tells him to see a doctor.

Orton asks to see footage of him beating Chad Gable last week. Riddle says Otis might be un-RKO-able. His neck is so thick and he eats so many burrito’s. Orton says he knows Otis is a powerhouse but… the duo get interrupted by the Alpha Academy. Gable says everyone is about to learn the same lesson he taught Randy last week: there is no greater threat in WWE than Otis. Gable says he recently got his Masters degree with a 4.0 GPA and the fans boo. Gable says he already knew he was too advanced for Detroit.

Gable says even the fans know it won’t be long until the RAW Tag Team Championship’s are on the waists of Alpha Academy. Riddle interrupts him and says Gable is smart, but he himself is of a higher education. Riddle asks what the Alpha Academy actually teaches, then challenges Gable to a match. Chad calls him an ignoramous and says he’d be happy to provide a free lesson. Riddle tells him to check himself before he wrecks himself, and that he’s about to introduce him to the three most dangerous letters: RK-Bro.

Riddle W/Randy Orton Vs. Chad Gable W/Otis

The bell rings and Gable takes Riddle down with a waistlock. Riddle tries to fight back but gets taken back down with an arm rag. Riddle attempts a triangle but Gable scrambles to the ropes. Riddle backs Gable into the corner and kicks his chest a few times, then whips him to the opposite corner but runs into a chop block. Gable starts targeting the knee to keep Riddle grounded.

Riddle kicks Gable in the face, counters a clothesline and looks for a Pele kick but Chad avoids it and hits an arm-trap German suplex for a near-fall. Gable goes up top and leaps for a moonsault but Riddle catches him in a triangle choke! Gable quickly reverses into an ankle lock but Riddle rolls him off. Gable attempts a rolling German suplex but Riddle lands on his feet and connects with a Final Flash knee. Riddle goes up top for a floating bro and the win!

Winner: Riddle

After the bell rings Otis rushes into the ring and shoulder tackles Riddle, sending him flying out of the ring.

*Commercial Break*

Randy Orton W/Riddle Vs. Otis W/Chad Gable

Back live and this match is underway. Orton delivers some European uppercuts and looks for an RKO but Otis throws him off. Otis hits a big splash, then a falling headbutt. Orton gets knocked out of the ring but he shoves Otis into the steel steps. Randy gets back inside and hits the draping DDT on Otis, then drops down and readies himself. Otis once again counters the RKO and hits a body slam. Otis goes up top and wants a Vader Bomb but Orton avoids it, then lands the RKO!

Winner: Randy Orton

After the match Riddle gets a microphone and says it’s time to give Randy his Christmas present. Riddle wants a big, beautiful hug and gets the crowd chanting for it. Orton is reluctant and shakes his head but eventually gives in. Orton briefly pretends to go for an RKO but laughs it off.

*Commercial Break*

Kevin Owens is interviewed backstage but before he speaks we’re shown a video of Big E – the Champion says he can’t be concerned about his opponents, it’s about him, his story, and walking out of Day 1 as Champion. Owens says Big E is wrong, it’s not about his story, it’s about KO’s. His plan is working perfectly; he got into the title picture at Day 1, he and Rollins are best friends, he took out Lashley, and the final step is to become the WWE Champion on Saturday.

*Commercial Break*

Reggie & Dana Brooke Vs. R-Truth & Tamina

The match begins with R-Truth taking a headlock on Reggie. Truth gets shot off but connects with a shoulder and does some dancing. Truth avoids the drop-down, so Reggie kips-up, flips under a clothesline and hits a back elbow. Reggie and Truth run into each other and both go down. Tamina tags in and superkicks Reggie, so Dana gets the tag.

Brooke lands a flurry of kicks on Tamina, ending with a dropkick and a handspring moonsault. Tamina fights back and takes Brooke’s head off with a back elbow. Truth tags himself in and Tamina is not happy. Dana counters a back suplex and tags Reggie, who hits a rolling wheelbarrow small package for the win.

Winners: Reggie & Dana Brooke

After the match, Tamina tries to attack Truth but he does the splits to avoid her and rolls from the ring. She then swings for Reggie but he avoids it, and Dana splashes Tamina before leaving.

Nikki A.S.H is interviewed backstage and asked about being barred from ringside last week. She says Rhea was victorius without her help, she obviously doesn’t need it. They became tag partners because they wanted to, not because they had to. Rhea has helped her when she’s been down on her luck, and she’d like to see the current tag champs to put their money where their mouths are. They’re officially challening Queen Zelina and Carmella to a title rematch.

*Commercial Break*

We see a long replay of the entire Roman Reigns/Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar saga. Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at Day 1 on Saturday.

RK-Bronament

Final

Street Profits Vs. The Mysterio’s

The match gets underway with Ford and Dominik and they exchange holds. We see RK-Bro watching backstage as Rey and Dawkins tag in. They leap, duck down, and counter each other until Rey hits a headscissors. Rey lands punches in the corner but runs into a shoulder block. Ford is tagged in and the Profits double team Rey.

Rey runs to the ropes, Ford looks for a dropkick but Rey moves out of the way. Dominik is tagged in and they double team Ford for a two-count. Rey is tagged back in and he runs to the ropes but eats an enziguiri from Ford. Rey jumps off the second rope and Ford catches him but Rey sends him to the outside. Rey knocks Dawkins to the outside of the ring. Rey and Dominik with double suicide dives onto the outside as we head to the break.

*Commercial Break*

We return to see Dominik and Montez both make tags. Rey runs through a series of moves against Dawkins and hits a headscissors from the middle rope. Rey wants the 619 but Dawkins comes back with a spinning elbow for a two-count. Mysterio hits a springboard moonsault into a tornado DDT for a near-fall. Ford and Dominik run in and brawl but both get knocked from the ring.

Dawkings nails Rey with a spinning neckbreaker, then tags Ford for a massive frog splash but Dom breaks it up. Dominik tosses Dawkins from the ring and dives over the ropes onto him. Ford grabs Rey but gets knocked onto the middle rope. Rey tags Dominik, hits the 619 on Ford and dives onto Dawkins on the outside. Dominik scales the ropes and htis a frog splash but Ford kicks out.

Dominik puts Ford on the middle rope again, then he and Rey want a double 619 but Dawkins pulls Rey from the ring. Dominik goes for the 619 anyway but Ford avoids it, then hits an enziguiri. Dawkins and Rey return and Angelo slides him under the ropes to the floor. The Profits then hit a double-team blockbuster for the win!

Winners: The Street Profits

We see a lengthy replay of the partnership between AJ Styles and Omos, leading to their demise on last week’s RAW. Styles makes his way to the ring.

*Commercial Break*

The Miz is backstage with a bouquet of roses. He throws them at a random guy and says he wouldn’t use them at a funeral, let alone today. He says tonight is massive and he had to call in some big favours, such as Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff! Bischoff appears beside Miz and says he couldn’t turn down the invitation to officiate, and he knows this is going to be must-see TV.

AJ Styles is in the ring. AJ questions why Omos isn’t here? He wonders if he’s scared that he won’t live up to the hype? AJ says he’s been there but he was never unappreciative. He has 20+ years experience on Omos and he’s seen lots of giants come-and-go, but there’s only one phenomenal AJ Styles. And he’s going to kick his teeth in!

Grayson Waller, from NXT, is at ringside holding a sign for himself and haggling AJ Styles. AJ invites Waller to get in the ring and so he hops the barricade. Waller does a little dance and Styles introduces him to the WWE Universe, who boo the crap out of him. Waller says he figured he’d come to AJ’s house, since Styles came to his. He thought the Universe should see what they can expect on Tuesday nights: the Grayson Waller effect.

Waller says he likes it on RAW, Monday’s feel good, but they’ll feel even better when Omos destroys him and he takes his spot. AJ says RAW is where stars are made but Waller isn’t a star. How about he give him a tour? Show him the ring, introduce him to the announcers, and give him a Phenomenal Forearm on his way out. Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez interrupt. Apollo says he and Azeez are similar to AJ and Omos, but his giant is here tonight. Azeez says if Styles wants to learn how to slay a giant he can fight him, right now. AJ accepts the challenge.

*Commercial Break*

Carmella is interviewed backstage. She’s asked about the challenge from Nikki A.S.H and she says they accept. There’s a hierarchy in the women’s division and Nikki and Ripley need put in their place. Now, Rhea has a hot goth warrior thing going on and she loves it, and Rhea could destroy someone with her bare hands. Nikki on the other hand, she’s obviously the weak link. She’s almost second best, almost a good tag partner, almost good enough. But almost doesn’t count. So her and Queen Zelina will definitely remain tag Champions.

AJ Styles Vs. Apollo Crews W/Commander Azeez

Apparently during the break Crews decided he wanted the match instead. The match gets underway and AJ connects with a dropkick, then hits a forearm in the corner. AJ lands a knee drop for a one-count. Crews hits a suplex, lands a big back body drop, then whips AJ hard into the buckles. Crews whips him into the buckles again. Styles knocks Crews from the ring and looks to jump over onto him but gets knocked into the apron. AJ is slammed at ringside, so Azeez and Crews taunt him.

*Commercial Break*

Back live and Styles connects with a Pele kick. AJ lands a flurry of strikes and a flying forearm. Crews kicks him back but gets caught with Ushigoroshi for a near-fall. As he looks for the Styles Clash, Crews rolls through, deadlifts him and hits a powerbomb for a near-fall. Styles counters Crews and goes to the apron but Azeez drags him from the ring.

Styles runs at Apollo, who is on the apron, but gets caught with a rolling fireman’s carry. Crews drags AJ back inside for a near-fall. Crews hits an enziguiri, then attempts a pop-up powerbomb but Styles counters in mid-air with a hurricanrana and almost spiked himself. Styles rolls through into the Styles Clash and scores the pinfall!

Winner: AJ Styles

After the match, Azeez runs into the ring but Styles bails. Azeez berates Crews and tries to help him up. Styles then drops Azeez with a Phenomenal Forearm. Weirdly, Azeez gets back up a few seconds later and AJ just punches him and he falls into the corner. AJ looks as confused as I feel.

Seth Rollins cuts a promo from his home. He says Kevin Owens is out there telling lies as usual but seeing as its the holidays, he’s in a giving mood. Owens can have all the credit for taking Lashley out. And that’s because at Day 1 he’s going to take the WWE Championship.

*Commercial Break*

Kevin Owens is in the ring. Owens says he’s in a great, festive mood. He shared Christmas with his family and last night he main evented in Madison Square Garden, then everything falls into place on Saturday when he wins the WWE Championship. He’s the only man in that match who’s actually here tonight, which makes him smarter than Seth Rollins, tougher than Big E and stronger than Bobby Lashley. Owens can’t blame the others for not coming to a dump like Detroit but he’s here regardless.

Owens knows the odds are against him on Saturday but let’s review the case: Seth Rollins stomped Lashley’s head into the steel steps and he was an innocent bystander, so Lashley will be after Seth; Big E was speared through a table by Lashley, so he’ll be after him; and he and Seth are thick as thieves. So all the pieces are aligned for him to win the title. MVP’s music hits and he comes out, sans Lashley. MVP says KO could not be more wrong.

MVP gives him credit for lying his way into a title shot and pitting his foes against each other. But the All Mighty hasn’t forgotten about being powerbomed onto the apron. Because it takes a lot more than a stomp onto some steps to take out Bobby Lashley. MVP reads a message from Lashley, who says he will “rip the noodle arms off the ectoplasmic body of Kevin Owens”. Owens doesn’t believe Lashley really wrote that message. Owens says it’s slightly terrifying but it doesn’t matter, Lashley can’t beat three men.

Kevin’s mother says she’s special and he’s going to prove her right. Out come Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. Cedric says Owens is right, one man cannot beat three. They were at their best when The Hurt Business was together but MVP says they shouldn’t say anything they’ll regret. Owens tells them to shut up, we all know this is leading to Cedric fighting him in a bid to prove his worth so that MVP will text Lashley and get The Hurt Business back together. So how about they skip all that and get to the fighting?

*Commercial Break*

Kevin Owens Vs. Cedric Alexander W/MVP & Shelton Benjamin

The match starts and Owens runs Cedric into the corner and batters him. Owens hits a senton, then a cannonball and drags Alexander over to the corner. Cedric rolls to the apron to avoid a swanton. Owens goes after him but gets slammed on the apron. Alexander gets Owens back inside but gets hit with Ushigoroshi for a near-fall.

Owens wants a pop-up powerbomb but gets aught with a handpsring kick. Owens rolls outside and Alexander hits a suicide dive, then rolls him back in. Cedric hits a rope-assisted STO for a near-fall. Alexander hits the ropes but gets caught with a lariat. Owens hits a pop-up powerbomb, then lifts Cedric and connects with a Stunner for the win.

Winner: Kevin Owens

After the match, Shelton Benjamin rushes in and he asks Owens for a match. Owens goes to the apron and Shelton goes to grab a microphone but when he turns around he gets hit with a Stunner.

We see a replay of Dolph Ziggler scoring a count-out victory over Damian Priest last week. After the break Dolph gets a title shot.

*Commercial Break*

We see another long promo, this time for the Liv Morgan/Becky Lynch feud. They’ll go one-on-one on Saturday for the RAW Women’s Championship.

Damian Priest cut a promo earlier today, in which he talked about his temper. He says nobody can stand in his way when Damian comes out. And if Ziggler finds himself on the wrong side of Damian, he doesn’t stand a chance of coming out on top. That match is next.

*Commercial Break*

United States Championship

(C) Damian Priest Vs. Dolph Ziggler

The title match begins and Priest backs Dolph into the corner. Ziggler jumps on his back but gets thrown off and Priest connects with a big boot. Priest chops Dolph in the corner, then delivers some knees to the gut. Ziggler fights back and slams Priest’s head into the buckles, then clubs him a few times. Priest lands a flying elbow, then clotheslines Dolph out of hte ring. Priest goes out and catches a flying Ziggler and throws him over the barricade.

*Commercial Break*

We return to find Ziggler in control of Priest but spends too much time trash-talking. Priest lands some right hands and a leg lariat, followed by a flying elbow in the corner and a flaphack. Priest hits a falcon arrow for a near-fall. Ziggler tries to escape but Priest grabs him, only for Dolph to elbow him back. Ziggler counters a choekslam with a roll-up for two.

Ziggler avoids him in the corner and hits a snap DDT for a near-fall. Again Dolph wastes time talking trash, then slaps Priest in the face, seemingly awakening the Damian. Priest goes crazy and rushes Dolph, battering him with rights and lefts. He beats him into the corner and beats on him until the referee disqualifies him but he doesn’t care.

Winner Via Disqualification: Dolph Ziggler

Priest drags Dolph out of the ring and runs him into the barricade but Dolph lays there and laughs. Priest lifts him and hits The Reckoning on the floor.

We see a replay of the recent goings-ons between The Miz and Edge. Eric Bischoff makes his entrance in order to officiate the renewal of the vows.

*Commercial Break*

Bischoff says it’s a true honour to be back in a WWE ring, especially to officiate an event such as this. He introduces The Miz, who comes to the ring in a white suit – he tripped walking up the steps but saved himself from falling. His bride, Maryse, comes to the ring next in a traditional dress with bouquet of flowers. Miz helps her up the steps and they stand by some microphones with Bischoff between them.

The fans boo and Miz says this is the last RAW of 2021, and what better way to commemorate the year. He was WWE Champion, dominated Dancing With The Stars, his wife made her triumphant return to RAW, and he will end the year by dominating Edge at Day 1. So to cap off the year they wanted to give us their wedding renewal. Miz says they were married in the beautiful Bahama’s and tonight they’re in dirty, decrepit Detroit. But it doesn’t matter where they are, he loves her.

Bischoff thanks Miz for the honour of officiating, then asks Maryse to read her vows. The fans boo loud as she says she knew he was the man of her dreams the day she met him. He’s the man of her dreams, her rock, and she loves him more than anything. And at Day 1, Miz will prove that he is the better man, father, husband and Superstar than Edge. She asks if he’ll continue to be her husband. Miz asks the fans what they think and they boo, so he says their opinion doesn’t matter because they literally live in Detroit.

Miz says when they met in 2006, Maryse couldn’t speak a word of French, so he’s going to read his vows in French. Miz attempts it but butchers the language and she tells him to do it in English. He says their love-making is like fireworks and she makes him a better man every day, so will she do him the honour of continuing to be his wife. Bischoff says that was very beautiful but if anyone has any objections, they should come out now. Naturally, the Rated R-Superstar’s music hits and the crowd goes wild.

Edge tells Miz not to fall over, then says it’s good to see Eric. He says he’s not out here to ruin their day, even though their vows made him throw up a little. He’s not out here to tell Miz that he’s a coward and a crappy father, he just wants to tell him that he’s going to beat his ass at Day 1. Miz says they knew he’d come out here, so they want to show him what true love looks like and they kiss to the boos of the crowd.

Edge says he knew Miz could play games but he still managed to give him the runaround a few times lately. They’ve embarrassed him, so its his time to embarass them. Miz and Maryse look around anxiously and Edge plays along, then says he’s only messing with them. He doesn’t want to ruin their day. He turns to leave but stops and asks if they wanted a white wedding? Suddenly The Brood’s music starts playing and red lights flash. Edge bails just as black goo falls from the ceiling and drenches the happy couple. Maryse wails and Miz slips and slides as Edge laughs.

That’s it for this week’s RAW, let us know what you thought of the show and we’ll see you back here tomorrow night for NXT. Until next time, stay safe.
