Mustafa Ali has been struggling since the past few months. Ali asked for time-off from the WWE so that he could be with his wife while she gave birth to his third child. Ali has slowly lost significant time on the Blue brand, and it’s because he’s finally been sent home.

Ali’s hometown crowd of Chicago wanted to see their champion get featured on the Smackdown Friday. Ali was not even present at last week’s episode, and he was not featured for any of the promos based on Christmas eve for the show.

According to a report by Fightful, Mustafa Ali has been sent home by WWE. As the SmackDown superstar needed the paternity leave to be alongside his wife and support her, his wishes luckily came to fruition.

We’re told that while he asked off for a couple of weeks for paternity leave, that amount of time had already passed and it appears that there just wasn’t anything planned for him for the Chicago shows. We’ve also learned that WWE sent Ali home early for paternity leave, and he’s not been on the road since before Survivor Series.

Mustafa Ali was reportedly there to be featured on this week’s episode of SmackDown. However, the creative team had nothing for him to work with, so he made his way back to his home.

It’s hard to tell when Ali will make his comeback, but he will be hungrier than ever. The WWE superstar has not been a part of WWE programming ever since Survivor Series 2021 pay-per-view event. When he comes back, he would certainly need to reclaim his name.
