Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson needs no introduction when it comes to the pro wrestling world as he is still regarded as one of the all-time greats. He is also a dominant force in Hollywood and brings huge star power to any film he acts in. The Rock is also businessman and a very conniving one at that. He also loves keeping himself in the best physical shape possible. He has money to throw around, but is he looking to make a WWE-sized purchase?

The Rock previously bought the XFL, the football league that Vince McMahon tried to launch on two separate occasions but failed miserably for various reasons. Along with The Rock, his ex-wife Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital Partners are all in on the franchise.

With WWE releasing so many talents and members of staff over the past year, many fans have been wondering whether Vince McMahon will sell WWE eventually. There are also rumors that The Rock will buy WWE.

While speaking on Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru, Jim Cornette addressed the rumor that The Rock will end up buying WWE. Cornette made it clear that it will never happen.

“Some people were saying, ‘Is The Rock going to buy WWE?’ I simply could not care less just how rich a movie star he is, he will not be investing $5 billion, all or part of his dollars, into a wrestling promotion or any wrestling promotion for that matter. He is definitely smart enough not to do that.”

The new XFL is set to launch in 2023 and it promises to be everything that Vince McMahon couldn’t live up to. We wonder whether WWE will truly ever be sold or not.
