Mick Foley’s opinion in the world of professional wrestling is held in high regard. The legend went viral a few months back with a video he posted entitled “WWE, We’ve Got A Problem.” It was in that video that the in-ring legend and author, made it known that he was extremely worried about the future of WWE and how talent now had another place to go when frustrated with WWE, and that place is AEW.

It was just recently that he made his opinion known on one Johnny Gargano and his own decision not to re-sign with WWE and wrestle for its NXT brand or be called up to the main roster. It would seem as though Gargano would want nothing to do with it and since his departure, he has relaunched his Twitch account and a wrestling tees store to boot.

Foley went deeper into Gargano’s decision to leave the company after an extremely successful period for him. Foley warned many not to trust the creative team in WWE with their own future and he commended Gargano on his decision. Foley made these statements while speaking with Wrestling Inc Daily.

“I was kind of vocal in the past few months about the releases that were made and how some talent was being treated. And how, if I was a young talent, I’d really have to think twice before trusting the creative team to do the right thing for me.

If you’re Johnny and you see the history of guys his size, there are some exceptions. People have done remarkably well, Daniel Bryan, Bryan Danielson being the best example. But I think they owe it to themselves to see what’s out there.”

Of course it is unclear whether Gargano will be going to AEW, but it has been rumored that either he or Kyle O’Reilly would be appearing on AEW programming, and as early as at Winter Is Coming, AEW’s event set for tomorrow night, but that is just merely conjecture at this time. The future is unclear but the rumors are plentiful for right now. We’ll keep you posted.
