Bully Ray Says It’s Hard For AEW Fans To Hate Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is one of the top stars in the company and has been one of the mainstays of AEW television since day one. He is also the EVP of the company and ensures the product is as good as it can be. It seems Bully Ray has an interesting take on Cody Rhodes’ fan reaction lately.

For the past few months, Cody Rhodes has been on the receiving end of a lot of boos from fans. Due to this, many have expressed their desire to have Cody Rhodes turn heel.

This included instances where fans said the r-word to Cody Rhodes on numerous occasions during a show. That wasn’t all as a fan even threw back the weight belt Cody Rhodes threw to the crowd.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray explained why he doesn’t believe fans will be hating on Cody Rhodes in the long run.

“I don’t think it’ll be full-blown yet. I think there’s still people out there who love and respect Cody for what he has done for AEW. It’s very hard to completely hate a guy that spends almost every waking minute of his day thinking about AEW. I mean, obviously, he thinks about Brandi and Liberty, his daughter but he is the backbone of the company. Kinda hard to hate him forever.”

Cody Rhodes is set to square off against Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship on the Christmas night edition of AEW Rampage. We will have to wait and see who will end up winning the match.
