A recent AAA show was canceled due to some very serious threats made by a local cartel. The event has caused a wee bit of a panic and for very good reason. So much so, that wrestlers scheduled to wrestle at tonight’s TripleMania were a tad concerned.

As has been reported, the aforementioned talent were apparently briefed about the situation – a potentially dangerous one – but the show is scheduled to happen regardless. Fightful Select made the following report:

“AAA TripleMania takes place this weekend, and features plenty of talent coming in for the show. There was some concern from some traveling in after cartel threats caused a cancelation to a recent AAA show.

Fightful has learned that some of the talent were briefed on the threats ahead of coming in, but we’re told that the threats were more towards the organizers of the event AAA was a part of than AAA itself, which was relayed to talent who were assured safety would not be an issue. The talent that we’ve heard from on the show weren’t concerned going into the weekend.”

So safety is apparently not an issue, which is obviously great. The card is a special one and features talent from many promotions across the board. It occurs tonight and features the likes of: Rey Fenix, Bobby Fish, Bandido, Jay Lethal, Pentagon Jr, Cain Velasquez and so many others.
