Davey Richards will miss at least one upcoming independent booking as he deals with fractured rib. Richards made the announcement on Twitter on the morning of December 3, 2021. He will miss his scheduled appearance for Glory Pro Wrestling this weekend.

The MLW star didn’t set a timetable for his in-ring return. Rib injuries are known to be incredibly painful to work through, so he will likely take as much time as it takes to properly heal. He had just recently returned after a four-year hiatus from professional wrestling.

“Sorry everyone! I’m out this weekend due to a fractured rib. Luckily my #teamambition teammates will kill it as always so go check them out!!”

Richards surprised fans when he showed up in Major League Wrestling over the summer. Unfortunately, it only lasted a handful of months before the injury bug struck. Injuries, of course, are a part of the reality of pro wrestling, but the timing couldn’t have been worse.

Davey Richards recently won the 2021 MLW Opera Cup. He defeated TJ Perkins in the final at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on November 6. Now, he is going to have to take even more time away from the ring.

Richards is one of the most decorated independent professional wrestlers of his era. He has won titles in Combat Zone Wrestling, DEFY, Full Impact Pro, NJPW, PWG, Ring of Honor, TNA, and more. He was a part of the legendary tag team The American Wolves along with Eddie Edwards.
