Drew McIntyre remains one of the top Superstars in WWE and certainly has a lot of passion for the pro wrestling business. He is a former two-time WWE Champion and was the face of the company during the pandemic era as the WWE Champion. He is also never afraid to give advice to his peers whenever needed.

Drew McIntyre was drafted to Friday Night Smackdown and started appearing on the show after WWE Crown Jewel last month. It seems the company has already started an angle for McIntyre but it’s not necessarily an original one.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has placed Drew McIntyre in a recycled storyline which will see him getting screwed by authority figures, especially with Brock Lesnar set to return next week on Friday Night Smackdown. He was the one fans wanted to see in the Black Friday Battle Royal, but he was also absent.

So the key stuff is that Brock Lesnar is back next week and they’re doing a new gimmick where the authority figures are trying to screw with Drew McIntyre which is an entirely new storyline that WWE has never done before, but you know what’s what they’re doing. They’re repeating the stuff from the past. I mean, that’s what we’re seeing everywhere.

WWE has been using the authority figure storylines for well over two decades, with the most notable one in recent times being Kofi Kingston’s feud against Daniel Bryan in 2019. It remains to be seen if Drew McIntyre will eventually get his shot at Roman Reigns as well.
