CM Punk made his debut in WWE back in 2006 as part of the ECW brand and already impressed many fans with his in-ring skills. He also had a memorable debut at Survivor Series. It seems he also had his fair share of doubters.

During Survivor Series 2006, CM Punk was part of Team DX vs Team Rated RKO’s match and many fans gave a huge pop when Punk made his way to the ring.

While speaking on his podcast, Bruce Prichard recalled that CM Punk had to deal with many doubting his abilities when he arrived in WWE. WWE’s ‘old-timers’ simply didn’t understand what the big deal was with CM Punk.

“I think from the day that Punk stepped into the WWE locker room, that there was that perception from a lot of people, until, you know, Punk actually did it. Despite that, there were still the doubters in that regard. But at this time, I really don’t think it was just Triple H. It was a lot of the old-timers that viewed him, ‘What the hell is this guy?’ Punk was brand new here.”
