Jim Ross had back surgery this week, but he made it back for AEW Dynamite in Chicago. He ended this week’s broadcast with a bit of different send-off. That signified to many that Jim Ross won’t be back for a while.

Ross is set to start radiation for his skin cancer. We are hoping for the best and rooting JR on. Tony Khan is also 100% behind him. He hopes to be back at New Year’s Smash.

Jim Ross released a statement on the matter via Twitter. He hopes to make his return to Dynamite on December 29th when they return to Jacksonville, Florida. He will have to take some time off while those radiation treatments take priority.

Due to my skin cancer care totaling 22 radiation treatments starting Monday, I will hopefully return to the announce desk on December 29 in Jacksonville. @TonyKhan supports me on this strategy which has been a blessing. My thanks for all your support.

Jim Ross is doing whatever he must do in order to get a clean bill of health. We can only hope that he won’t miss much time from television as AEW fans will certainly miss his Hall of Fame voice.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
