Update: This match was pre-taped and will not be live. Jon Moxley was last reported as being in rehab and working on getting better. We are wishing him the best in his recovery.

Original: Jon Moxley is coming for Suzuki-Gun, but this match was taped on October 17th for NJPW Strong Showdown. Moxley will team with fellow AEW star Eddie Kingston to take on Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer at the New Japan Strong Showdown on November 27. Fittingly, the show takes place at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia.

The match is booked as a Philly Street Fight. New Japan announced this and other big matches on their English-language website. There, they gave fans a preview of the huge matchup.

“The iconic home of hardcore that is the 2300 Arena gets a fitting main event this week as Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer take on Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley. It was early in the autumn when Suzuki arrived in the USA, and started his American sojourn by resuming a feud with Jon Moxley.

Reconnecting with AEW’s Lance Archer in the process, the two took on Mox and Kingston in New York, only for the sudden appearance of NY native Homicide to lead to a Suzuki-Gun defeat. Demanding a rematch on NJPW turf, now the four are set to collide in a violent war with no disqualifications or countouts, and where the referee’s only job is to render a decision by pinfall, submission or knock out.

Moxley entered an inpatient rehab program from alcohol abuse in early November. It is said that he is doing well and taking the steps he needs to get better.

The former AEW champion has received an outpouring of support for his decision to seek help. He’s sure to get a hero’s welcome when he does return.
