Mustafa Ali has been working in WWE for quite a long time now and remains one of the most talented in-ring competitors in the entire company. He is also the former leader of Retribution. It seems Paul Heyman has a high opinion on Mustafa Ali.

Mustafa Ali’s previous program in WWE saw him involved in a feud/mentorship with Mansoor on Monday Night RAW. Mansoor did not have any say in the relationship whatsoever. After that, he developed a controversial character which was ultimately nixed by the company after a while.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Paul Heyman talked about Mustafa Ali’s future in WWE. Paul Heyman stated that Mustafa Ali will become a sensation in WWE.

“Imagine somebody new and fresh with innovative ideas that nobody has thought of before, walking in the door and saying ‘OK, let me oppose him. Let me bring a different perspective, a different viewpoint. Let the audience look at me and go ‘these guys are together, but this guy’s a disruptor.’ Look at Ali, look at Mustafa Ali. Mustafa Ali is one of the foremost talents in WWE. Why? because he constantly pushes against boundaries.

He is going to be a sensation, one day or the next, he’s going to be. Why? because he’s not held to the convention, he is not held to what has been done already, he looks and he says ‘this is what I can do in the next 36 months, and nobody else is doing it’. We need more people like that. We need more people like what we have in NXT of young talent sitting there saying ‘I will do it better than what everybody else is doing. Glad everyone else is doing so well, put me in there. I’ll change the game. I’ll disrupt the industry.”

Vince McMahon also once told Mustafa Ali he didn’t know if Ali had what it takes to become a star in WWE. We will have to wait and see if Ali will eventually get a breakthrough in the company.
