Paul Heyman Reveals Why Roman Reigns Brought Him In

The drastic change in character for Roman Reigns over the years has been well documented. He went from being an utterly dull babyface to one of the most compelling heels in WWE. He also isn’t stranger when it comes to accolades in the company.

Roman Reigns was an eyesore for many when he was a babyface and fans and pro wrestlers alike agreed with this notion. This is in spite of the fact that Reigns competed in high profile matches against the very best.

Many fans also agree with the fact that having Paul Heyman as Roman Reigns’ special counsel helped elevate him to the top. Roman Reigns agrees with that fact as he considers Heyman great weapon in his arsenal.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani on BT Sport, Paul Heyman revealed why Roman Reigns hired him as his Special Counsel. It all came down to Reigns being in the main event of WrestleMania.

“Main eventing WrestleMania is important to Roman Reigns. How does he defend his position? How does Roman Reigns make sure he does not lose that position? So he turns to the wise man, he turns to a Special Counsel, ‘Keep me on top. Make sure I do not lose this position. Make sure I can handle the burden of being the top attraction.”

Paul Heyman also previously said that capitalizing on Roman Reigns’ greatness is hard for WWE. Roman Reigns will square off against WWE Champion Big E at Survivor Series on November 21st. We will have to wait and see who will come out on top in the match.
