WWE is always looking to expand their roster and that also comes with locking down names for Superstars they want to use. Vince McMahon’s company is still hard at work on that as they locked down 5 new Superstar names.

PW Insider reports that WWE registered these new trademarks, presumably for new NXT 2.0 Superstars, on November 9th. Those names include Gary Wilson, Marquis Hamilton, Felix Fernandez, Blair Baldwin, and Draco Anthony. It is not clear whom will get those names, but the registration was done in the typical fashion of all pro wrestling trademarks.

The trademarks were each for, “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

We will keep our eyes open for those names to find their way onto WWE programming. Whenever WWE registers to trademark a name that usually means that hey intend on making the most of it.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
