Shinsuke Nakamura made a name for himself in NJPW, where he was the King Of Strong Style and touted as one of the best pro wrestlers in the world. He would eventually sign with WWE and has had a decent career in the company so far.

Nakamura would join the world of pro wrestling way back in 2002 and has been an active competitor since then. Many fans feel Nakamura hasn’t been used as well as he should be in WWE.

Earlier this year, Shinsuke Nakamura had a main event level push as he put on a stellar performance in a gauntlet match that determined the #1 contender for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship. In the end, Nakamura was blindsided by The Bloodline, due to which he never won the match.

Nakamura and Reigns are set to square off against each other for the Tribute To The Troops’ special on November 14th. While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Shinsuke Nakamura stated that he wants a full-fledged storyline with Roman Reigns after the event.

“Roman has a real responsibility for WWE and professional wrestling, and a responsibility to his bloodline to be the best professional wrestler. He is one of the best in the world. But I need to get the WWE world title. I need to prove I’m better than him. Roman has that fighting spirit. I want to wrestle him more, and that includes Rick Boogs vs. Paul Heyman.”

Shinsuke Nakamura is currently the WWE Intercontinental Champion since winning it back in March. It remains to be seen whether Nakamura will ever be given a main event level push in the future.
