Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik were part of WWE’s last wave of cuts. A report dropped this morning saying that they both asked for their releases after a loss on Main Event. Now one of those two men have spoken out about the report.

It was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “Dorado & Metalik is that both asked for their release after being asked to lose on Main Event to Garza & Carrillo on 9/13 in Boston. The story behind it is that there were those in the company who viewed this as punishment for Dorado, who was booked to lose the fall (usually that would be Metalik when the team would lose) to a makeshift team.”

Lince Dorado saw our article on Meltzer’s report and commented on Twitter. It is also possible that he was answering our question about whether he and Gran Metalik are better off outside of WWE.

We have reached out and hope to clarify this situation. If anything, a juicy shoot interview could be in the pipeline for the Lucha House party someday. They will have to wait until their 90-day non-compete clauses expire before that can happen.
