Bryan Danielson’s accolades as a professional wrestler certainly need no introductions as they proved to be one of the best in the business. He spent several years working in WWE as one of their top stars and towards the end of his run, Bryan Danielson was even part of WWE Creative. It seems Bryan Danielson has an interesting view on his WWE matches.

Danielson’s debut in AEW is considered one of the most impactful debuts in recent memory as well. Danielson had previously mentioned his desire to wrestle in other pro wrestling companies and that’s exactly what he did in the end.

Danielson previously admitted that he felt an odd detachment from WWE despite being in the main event of WrestleMania 37 earlier this year. It seems there is a good reason for that.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Show, Bryan Danielson talked about his reasons for going to AEW. Danielson claimed that AEW was simply more of a challenge, unlike in WWE. Danielson claimed that he could sleepwalk through most of his matches in WWE.

“There was something exciting about it and a little scary. You get too comfortable at something for too long and there was just something exciting about it. There was also this idea in my mind where, I tried not to and for the most part I didn’t, but in my WWE matches, I could go out there and kind of sleepwalk through them if I wanted to. I tried not to. In AEW, you can’t because they do so much. I was watching one of their shows and I was like, ‘I don’t even know if I can wrestle here. These guys are doing so much. I think this might be dangerous for me.’ I had mentioned it to Jon Moxley and I said that to him and he said, ‘Dude, you’re Bryan Danielson, you can do any of this. You don’t have to do what these guys are doing, you can create your own thing.'”

Bryan Danielson also recently admitted he needs to wrestle fewer matches in AEW. Danielson is currently set to square off against Miro in the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament at AEW Full Gear on November 13th. It remains to be seen how he will fare in the match.
