Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux are taking their acts on the road after their recent releases from WWE. A real-life engaged couple, the pair will likely see a lot of bookings together as they set a course for their post-WWE careers. As it turns out, the same thing almost happened in WWE.

On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about how the pair almost got a major push together. None of the plans ever materialized. It’s clear now that at some point, WWE thought of the duo as potential power players in the company.

“Scarlett was the deal with Kross, I don’t know why they broke them up. There was talk, among other things, that they were gonna break them up and that he was gonna go and do so-so and then she was gonna come in and then he was going to be pushed as a big star with her — that had been talked about among a million things that had been talked about and it obviously never happened.”

It’s easy to consider what might have been if Karrion Kross were utilized differently during his time on the WWE main roster. The idea was ultimately scrapped and Kross and Scarlett will have to play with the hand they were dealt. This news will certainly upset fans who saw the high potential for Kross and Bordeaux within the promotion.

Kross was pulled from WWE television after a series of cancelled plans for his return never worked out. Shortly thereafter, both were let go in the most recent wave of WWE talent releases. It remains to be seen if the couple will end up in the same home promotion together.

Scarlett Bordeaux has been in the wrestling industry for nine years, including a lengthy stay in Ring of Honor. Karrion Kross is a two-time NXT champion with experience all over the United States. The potential for the two to convert their real-life chemistry into a wrestling duo is there for any company who wants to pick up the ball that WWE dropped.
