WWE Was Preparing To Repackage Karrion Kross Again Before Release

Karrion Kross had a solid run on NXT, winning the NXT Championship on two separate occasions. He was booked as an unstoppable force and for the most part, it worked. However, that all changed once he was called up to the main roster.

Karrion Kross debuted new mask after he lost the NXT Championship and since his first day on the main roster, he was seen without his fiancée Scarlett. Kross also revealed who came up with the idea of his mask. Kross had a disastrous start on the main roster after losing to Jeff Hardy in mere minutes.

Unfortunately, Karrion Kross was released as part of WWE’s latest mass exodus that saw himself, Keith Lee and others fired. This is despite him already having changed up his look in a huge way.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon planned on repacking Karrion Kross for the third time after he failed to get over with fans. This is why he was pulled from WWE television and ultimately released.

Vince McMahon had just pulled Kross from television, saying that he hadn’t gotten over and within the company they were told they were going to repackage him a third time. When Kross was in NXT, he was being groomed to be a main roster superstar because of his size and physique. He was beaten twice on television right away, then repackaged with a new Demolition-like costume, until McMahon pulled him from television with the idea that gimmick didn’t click either.

Karrion Kross already hinted at his next move after his WWE release. We will have to wait and see what will become of Karrion Kross. It is likely he might try to go back to Impact Wrestling or try his luck elsewhere.
