Fans have been eagerly looking forward to Jon Moxley‘s fight against Orange Cassidy on AEW Dynamite. However, unfortunately, it seems that the fight will not be happening.

Moxley’s fight against Cassidy was supposed to be the second semi-final match in the AEW World Championship Eliminator tournament, following Bryan Danielson‘s semi-final fight against Eddie Kingston on Rampage last Friday.

Since Danielson won against Kingston, he would have faced either Moxley or Cassidy in the final. However, that has all been put on hold for the time being.

The cancellation of the fight was due to the fact that Moxley has entered an inpatient alcohol treatment program. As a result, he has taken some time off from wrestling.

While it is definitely a disappointing turn of events, and the Moxley vs. Cassidy fight was highly anticipated, we wish Moxley a speedy recovery. We will have to see what AEW does with the World Title Eliminator Tournament, because Moxley was originally slated to go to the finals.
