WWE’s Chairman of the Board, Vince McMahon, has seen his share of action in the ring. He took bumps and bled on national television. Tony Khan isn’t getting that physical and there is a reason for that. His first altercation in AEW resulted in cracked ribs.

The Grand Slam event saw American Top Team, consisting of Jorge Masvidal, Junior dos Santos, Paige VanZant and others, invade AEW’s broadcast once again. Dan Lambert acted as their mouth piece and then things took a turn toward dangerous for Tony Khan.

While speaking to the New York Post, Tony Khan revealed that Junior dos Santos accidentally cracked his ribs during a segment at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

“He cracked them. I’ll be OK. But he legitimately cracked them. I’ll be OK. It’s been a few weeks, but I’m sleeping on my right side.”

“It felt just right in the moment. It was just kind of improvised. He’s a very strong man. I love the gasp pop it got.”

Tony Khan did his best to no-sell that injury, but it was real. Dos Santos is no slouch, and he gave Tony Khan quite a bear hug on the entrance ramp.

“I was definitely asking for it. I’m fine. I’m a not wuss, but he did break my ribs. So he’s going to be a handful in the ring for sure. I can tell you,” Khan admitted as he closed up his story.

American Top Team will be back in AEW and they were even penciled in to face the Inner Circle at Full Gear if that leaked lineup has anything to say about it.
