Gable Steveson was picked in the 2021 WWE Draft before he even made his official debut with the company. The Olympic Gold Medalist will join the RAW roster when his time comes to make his way to WWE. He already inked a contract with the company and they expect great things from him.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Steveson’s pick was a bit of a surprise. It is curious that WWE decided to throw his name onto the end of their draft, but that is the decision they made.

It was further noted that WWE sees Gable Steveson in a WrestleMania role for next year. The company’s desire to feature Steveson is no secret and the plan is for him to jump over to WWE when his college wrestling commitments are over in March. That would give Gable Steveson plenty of time for a WrestleMania debut.

It was known that the company wants to feature Steveson all year on the show before the idea is of him starting as a regular after the college wrestling season ends in March, with the idea of a WrestleMania debut.

Gable Steveson is already looked at as a “next Kurt Angle” type of a Superstar. Of course, he also made it clear that he’s not the next Kurt Angle at all.

There is a ton of potential there and WWE knows it. That is why they have gone all out so far to make him happy and push him before he even had a chance to make his official debut.
