Randy Orton is currently teamed up with Matt Riddle on WWE RAW, but the Viper was not on the show this week. That didn’t stop Riddle from listening to RKO’s entrance music to get him pumped up, because that way Riddle still felt like Randy was with him. It turns out that Randy Orton’s absence might not have been planned.

RKBro did not have a match at Extreme Rules, but they were supposed to be at a house show this past weekend. Interestingly enough, Randy Orton didn’t make that show despite being advertised for the event.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up Randy Orton’s current situation and he said “there’s something up” regarding the former World Champion’s absence.

“He wasn’t booked on the pay-per-view but he was booked on the house show and he wasn’t at the house show either so there’s something up.”

Randy Orton missed about a month’s worth of television in recent memory, but they kept his storyline going with Matt Riddle without him. Riddle was able to carry that angle every week by himself, but he never stopped bringing up Orton. We’ll have to see what WWE does in this situation, especially as the 2021 Draft looms closer.
