AEW is set to produce their largest event ever as Grand Slam takes over Arthur Ashe Stadium. They can now fit over 20,000 people in the building, but don’t expect them to inflate the number like another company might.

CM Punk replied to an update from Dave Meltzer where he spoke about how AEW now has over 20,000 seats after production figured things out. Punk is a student of pro wrestling history and he dropped a reply to Meltzer with one number that said a lot

93,173

In case you didn’t know, 93,173 is the number that WWE touted as WrestleMania III’s attendance. That number has been later refuted to be more around 78,000 fans. 78,000 is still a ton of people to bring in for WrestleMania III, but Vince McMahon’s company was able to squeeze out an additional 15,173 seats somehow.
