Cesaro challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania Backlash. It was the biggest match in Cesaro’s career in WWE and he was determined to make the most of his opportunity.

Cesaro tried his hardest to beat The Tribal Chief but ultimately, it was to no avail as Reigns won the match after locking in the Guillotine submission on Cesaro, making The Swiss Superman pass out as a result.

Cesaro claimed that he pushed Roman Reigns to the limit more than others did and was proud of that fact as well.

While speaking on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast, Cesaro revealed what he found disappointing about his feud with Roman Reigns. It was the fact that there was no live audience in attendance.

“You know what I was disappointed about? I wish it would have been in front of fans. That’s the one thing. That was the one thing, like… that match, the build-up, everything, I wish it would have been in front of fans, but it was the ThunderDome and it was still awesome.”

Cesaro suffered a “Cervical strain” as part of the storyline and it remains to be seen how long The Swiss Superman will be out of action and when he will be returning to WWE television.
