Dominik Mysterio Reportedly Considered For Masked Heel Character

Dominik Mysterio debuted during the pandemic and he didn’t get to wrestle in front of live fans until WWE returned to the road. He receives a nice babyface reaction, but it is nothing compared to his father Rey Mysterio. That could lead to Dominik turning to the dark side.

WWE resisted the idea of Dominik Mysterio turning heel, but it seems that the are teasing that direction. The Mysterios have not experienced the best winning record as of late and there seems to be a splintering between the father/son duo.

According to a report from Wrestling News, Vince McMahon is “receptive” to the notion of giving Dominik a mask. This would also see him turn heel in the process.

Vince McMahon has been receptive to the idea of putting a mask on Dominik and having him declare himself to be the superior member of the Mysterio family as part of the heel turn.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Dominik Mysterio. Feuding with Rey Mysterio seems like a logical step in WWE’s booking formula after the team lost the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

Dominik Mysterio also has masks in mind that he would want to use. The real question is what Vince McMahon decides to do with the situation.
