WWE just debuted a new NXT 2.0, but they are still hard at work getting Superstars prepared for the next level in NXT UK. William Regal’s son is a part of the UK brand, and he just got a new repackaging.

Bailey Matthew is now known as “Charlie Dempsey.” He saw a video package debut today during the weekly NXT UK broadcast in he form of a teaser trailer. This was a nice vignette for Dempsey as he re-introduces himself to the WWE NXT UK fans.

Dempsey has trained with plenty of UK pro wrestling legends, including his own father. He won’t be flipping or taking any high risks, because Charlie Dempsey appears to be a throwback character bent on wrestling excellence.

“An inspiration of mine used to say that the body was just like a ladder, having to move up and down it with every move you do. Hearing that, something clicked in my head. I’ve actually gone out of my way to seek out the British competitors of the past, and train with them, to learn this style that I’ve come to adopt. I’m not going to do any flips out of the ring, or treat this link an acrobat contest. I’m going to take my opponent down, grind them down to a paste, and I’m going to show you something that you’ve never seen before.”

Dempsey made his NXT UK debut in February when he lost to Tyler Bate. He disappeared since then, but now he has re-emerged with a new persona. We will keep our eyes peeled for more from Charlie Dempsey, because he comes from a great pro wrestling background as William Regal’s son.
