Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are longtime friends and their history dates back over a decade prior to joining WWE. Owens’ contract is up on January 31st, 2022, but Zayn’s deal is a matter of question.

TVA Sports reported in April 2019 that “Zayn had signed a three-year contract shortly before leaving for his operations, so with sick time so often added to the length of the contract, he still has about two and a half years left on his current deal.” Some read this report to mean that Zayn’s deal is up in the Fall of this year.

According to a report from Fightful Select, they reached out to WWE and asked about Zayn’s current contract situation. The idea that Zayn’s deal is up in the Fall of this year was shut down, but they didn’t provide much else for clarification. We do know that Zayn’s contract isn’t up imminently.

In reaching out to WWE sources about Zayn’s contract and the length of it, all we were told is “It’s not up in the fall.” Zayn has not commented on the matter as of yet.

Sami Zayn could find himself in an interesting contract situation very soon. His deal isn’t up as soon as the fall.

It was previously noted that a few WWE Superstars saw their contracts restructured, Kevin Owens being one of them. We haven’t heard if Zayn’s deal was changed prior to the pandemic, but that thought puts a lot of questions around every WWE deal at this juncture.
