Kevin Owens’ WWE contract is expiring far sooner than most expected. At this point many fans are simply waiting out the days until he shows up in AEW, but despite his teases, nothing is set in stone right now.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Kevin Owens’ current situation. He also mentioned that Owens doesn’t have the same complaint as a lot of Superstars, because the company doesn’t restrict his promos as much since they trust him.

“The reality with Kevin is that he’s one of the least scripted guys in WWE. He’s like Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and John Cena where they let him, you know do a lot more and say what he thinks, because they do have confidence in their talking ability.”

A lot of things could happen between now and January 31st when Kevin Owens’ contract expires. If WWE has an idea that he’s not sticking around they could always remove him from television, because it makes no sense to promote him as a wrestler who isn’t going to stick around. Either way, the next few months of pro wrestling is going to be very interesting.
