Heels is a new kind of drama based in the pro wrestling world, but even the scenes captured on the Starz show can’t compare to the actual intensity that exists in the squared circle. Star Allen Maldonado wouldn’t mind getting his hands dirty in a big way.

While talking to Wrestling Inc, Maldonado spoke about CM Punk for a bit. He never had a chance to work with Punk in any scenes, but he did speak about how the Second City Savior was very cool on set.

“Punk’s cool, man. I actually didn’t have any scenes with CM, but I got to be on set with him a couple of times and kind of just talked about wrestling, talking about different things. He’s an incredible, incredible, dude. Super cool. That’s always great when you meet people that you are fans of and they’re just great people, as well as the talents that you fell in love with. We were just having great conversation. We really didn’t even get into the wrestling part. It was kind of later on in the season. Not to say that I wouldn’t have taken any advice, but we were just kind of having a conversation amongst men.”

Stephen Amell recently stated that he could see himself in an AEW ring. Allen Maldonado shares the same idea, and he expressed a lot of interest in merging the Heels world and AEW for some kind of in-ring action.

“I would love it. I’m an action junkie. Anything like that would be right up my alley. I have to try to convince James [Harrison] to do it, but I would love to get in there and actually do a real match, just to have fun, just to knock it off the bucket list.”

AEW isn’t opposed to cross-promotional efforts, so this isn’t out of the picture. CM Punk and Stephen Amell both have strong ties with the AEW roster. We’ll have to see if a Heels x AEW crossover ever happens, but Allen Maldonado isn’t opposed to the idea at all.
