Brock Lesnar was absent from WWE television after dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. That changed at WWE SummerSlam, where he made his shocking return to WWE television and confronted Roman Reigns. He officially came back as babyface, much to the delight of fans.

After his thunderous return, many fans expected to see Brock Lesnar appear on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. However, that didn’t happen as Lesnar was absent from the show.

According to a report by PWInsider, Finn Balor will be Roman Reigns’ next challenger for his WWE Universal Championship. It is expected that Balor vs Reigns will take place at WWE Extreme Rules.

This would leave Brock Lesnar to face off against Roman Reigns at a bigger event. He will take on Roman Reigns either WWE Crown Jewel or Survivor Series as the company wants it to happen at a special event.

It remains to be seen how Finn Balor and Roman Reigns’ feud will be booked until Brock Lesnar eventually gets his chance at the WWE Universal Championship.
