Ilja Dragunov Claims NXT UK Is ‘Untouchable’

Ilja Dragunov was able to topple Walter at NXT TakeOver: 36, and that was quite a brutal victory. He fought hard to capture the top title in NXT UK, and he possesses is a lot of pride for the brand as well.

Lucha Libre Online recently spoke to the new NXT UK champion. Dragunov was very outspoken as he praised the NXT UK brand, claiming that they are above all other brands in WWE.

“I know the responsibility I have. I know I represent the greatest brand in my opinion (WWE NXT UK). I think regarding my style in the ring, regarding the physicality, regarding how you make people believe, and connect to the performance, NXT UK is untouchable. Definitely people should never sleep on NXT UK.”

We will have to see what’s next for Ilja Dragunov, because defeating WALTER can’t be the end of his story. Now rumors are swirling that WALTER might be best used elsewhere within the company. This could be an interesting time for NXT UK, especially because their new champion seems very dedicated to the brand’s success.
