Roman Reigns has proven himself to be an excellent champion with great character work and in-ring skills. Reigns’ reinvention as heel has truly shown just how good he can be both as an in-ring performer and character. It came after several years of being forced onto fans as a babyface.

During the height of his run as a babyface, Roman Reigns engaged in a feud with Triple H. It culminated in a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 32. One of the highlights of the match saw Roman Reigns hitting a brutal spear on Stephanie McMahon.

While speaking to the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, Roman Reigns gave huge props to Stephanie McMahon for taking a stiff spear from him, adding that she wasn’t very happy about getting speared.

“She took it like a champ. She did a great job, and I didn’t really pull any of the physicality out. She took a full-on spear, and that’s how you should do it in the main event of WrestleMania. She was obviously a little bit sore and not very happy about that, but I think everybody after a main event of a WrestleMania is ecstatic of going through that process, and the adrenaline rush of the performance and then also celebrating a phenomenal moment with the live audience, [and] everybody watching at home

Roman Reigns ended up winning the match and became the new WWE Champion, but fans certainly did not enjoy watching the match whatsoever. We’ll have to see if Stephanie McMahon gets involved in another storyline, but she likely won’t take another spear from the Tribal Chief.
