Chelsea Green was one of several Superstars released by WWE earlier in the year as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts. Many fans felt she was not utilized well in WWE and wanted her to join a promotion where Green would be appreciated.

Green certainly has a creative mind and had pitched multiple ideas to WWE, but none of them truly stuck with the company. Vince McMahon’s company is also still on their quest to own any name that has ever graced their television programming.

Back in 2020, WWE filed a trademark for “Chelsea Green” and it seems the company is still trying to keep the name for some reason, despite them releasing Chelsea Green.

WWE had to supply additional information to the USPTO on August 5, which included a signed letter of consent from Green. The letter was dated November 2020, when she was still with WWE.

Now it seems Chelsea Green has reacted to WWE trying to still keep her name, as she took to Twitter and expressed her disbelief at the matter.

“I never thought I’d be in a legal battle for my BIRTH GIVEN name. Going to discuss it on tomorrow’s episode of @GreenWEnvyPod.”

Green recently made her return to Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary and before that, she appeared at ROH as well. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for her.
